Teaching Practice
I am currently in my 18th year teaching music to young children. At the moment I am in the employ of the Jewish Community Center of San Francisco as the director of their Toddler Tunes program. I also work as a music specialist at St James Preschool and Lone Mountain Children’s Center, both in San Francisco.
Lessons include a variety of activities: singing with and without accompaniment, singing games, fingerplays, circle games, rhymes, free expressive movement, and work with small percussion instruments. My work is based on the Orff-Schulwerk approach to music education, in which I hold a teaching certificate.
The repertoire partakes of folk traditions from around the world. A few original tunes are thrown in as well.
